2021 Fantasy Football WR PPR Ranking: The best wide receiver in the draft, sleepers should know

Compared with the standard, the rankings of running backs, wide receivers and close ends in the PPR league have all changed, but how big is the difference? For wide players, it is not as compelling as a defender, but it is important to pay attention to which players are more attractive in the PPR format. Although the top players of last season, such as Stephen Diggs and Davant Adams, were equally valuable in both formats of last season, but if you take into account the increase of even half a percentage point per reception, it will appear. More intermediate and late sleepers. Our 2021 Fantasy WR PPR ranking highlights these players, as well as passers from “good” to “great”.

Take Keenan Allen as an example. In the standard format last season, Allen ranked 18th. However, he ranked 13th in the PPR format. The difference lies in the number of obvious points received each time and the average number of codes received each time. Allen recorded 100 catches (tied for fifth), but only generated 9.9 yards per catch (ranked 96th in WR). In the format that does not reward reception, it is easy to understand why he ranks slightly higher.

On the other hand, compared with PPR, Chase Claypool’s standard ranking has risen by 9 places (14th). Only 62 receptions were registered last year, and Claypool has a limited PPR cap. But with 14.1 yards per catch and 11 total touchdowns (including two rushes), he can maximize his ability to touch the ball, which is the secret of standard success for a low-volume player.

Especially in the PPR format, the goal share and offensive pass volume are particularly important. Players who force the ball, whether they have the ability to play the ball or not, are very valuable. Route operation technicians that control the volume are the most reliable in PPR, especially if they are also explosive low-field receivers. However, some players are explosive low-court receivers, and they won’t see a large number of catches-Klaipur, Mike Williams, etc. Of course, they are still valuable to the roster, but not like the catcher.

Look for players who will see more goals and receptions due to goals that were vacated last year, such as Calvin Ridley who lost Giulio Jones or DJ Moore and Robbie Anderson who lost Giulio Jones and Cooper Cooper. The players Robert Woods, CeeDee Lamb and Amari Cooper, Brandon Aiyuk or Deebo Samuel, or DJ Chark and Laviska Shenault Jr., their offense will take a step forward in terms of passing volume and efficiency. These players range from elite selection to mid-level breakthrough candidates. At the same time, people like Taylor Boyd, Juju Smith-Schuster, Dionte Johnson, Cole Beasley, Antonio Brown, Darnell Mooney, Jalen Rigg and Players like Devonta Smith have also participated in a lot of offenses, which should give them enough opportunities to become WR2 /3s in PPR every week.

Wide receivers are always a deep place in fantasy, and you can find players who are set to command many goals late in the draft. Just make sure to understand the format of your league and assess the difference between PPR and standard ranking before the draft.

We will adjust these WR PPR rankings and provide further analysis from now to week 1, so please check back for updates. For individual player analysis, please check our Standard League WR Ranking.
