2021 Olympic football rankings: updated tables, scores and results of women’s games

Eight teams will survive the group stage of the 2021 Olympic Women’s Football Championship and advance to the quarterfinals. Their dream of winning the gold medal in Tokyo still exists.

The 12 countries competing for Olympic glory are divided into three groups, each with four teams, marked as EG group to avoid confusion with the men’s championship AD group. The first two finishers will automatically get a place to enter the quarter, and the two best third-placed teams will join their teams to form an elite eight-man team.

How the Women’s Olympic Football Group Match Works

The four opponents of each group will face off in a classic round-robin format on three match days: July 21, July 24, and July 27. The team will win three points, draw one point, and lose one point. Minute.

At the end of the final game day on July 27, the final ranking will determine the fate of each team. The position in the group either locks the team in a specific quarter-final, or allows some countries to pack up and go home as soon as possible.

If the teams score the same, the predetermined tiebreaker will be used one by one until all the draws are broken. If there is still a deadlock between two or more teams after the sixth tiebreaker, FIFA will draw lots (that is, draw a name from the hat). This is the order of the deciding game, explain in detail In the official game rules:

  1. Excellent goal difference in all group matches
  2. Most goals scored in all group matches
  3. The most points earned in the group stage between teams in a tie
  4. Outstanding goal difference in the group stage of the team with a tie
  5. The team with a tie has the most goals in all group matches
  6. The best behavior score based on the yellow/red cards received in all group matches
  7. FIFA draw

The two best third-placed teams are determined based on the same tiebreaker mechanism, although for obvious reasons, the 3-5 tiebreaker does not apply.
