The road to the Tokyo Olympics for the US men’s basketball team is full of speed bumps.
The US team lost the first two exhibition games with Nigeria and Australia, and then scored a much-needed victory against Argentina. Then the US team lost Bradley Beal (health and safety agreement) and Kevin Love (recovered from injury), and had to cancel the rematch with Australia due to COVID-19 concerns.
There is only one week away from the opening of this year’s Olympics, and this year’s team has no time to cultivate chemistry. The U.S. team recently added Kelden Johnson and JaVale McGee as substitutes. Devin Booker, Zhu Holiday and Chris Middleton will not join other teams until the end of the NBA Finals.
