NASCAR game weather update: Rain postpones the game in New Hampshire

Sunday’s race at the New Hampshire State Speedway may be over before it starts.

The NASCAR drivers completed their pre-race procedures on the track in the fog in front of Casino 301 of the Happy Woods Resort. The race only lasted three laps and the track was too slippery to continue: leaders Kyle Busch and Martin Truex Jr. were second, and both were entering Hit the wall at turn 1. Ross Chastain, Danny Hamlin, and Alex Bowman were also involved in the crash, but did not suffer major damage.

The damage to the Busch car was severe enough to end his day. He was blunt on the NBC Sports TV show:

“We are done. There is no way to solve that problem.”

Bush was obviously frustrated on the track because he drove away from the crash and followed the speed car. Several drivers, including him, expressed frustration that they were allowed to enter the track. More importantly, NASCAR did not adequately respond to the communication between the drivers and the staff that the racing conditions were not optimal.
