Wimbledon will host the quarter-finals, semi-finals and finals on its two largest stadiums. This is the first full outdoor stadium in a British sporting event since the pandemic began.

Wimbledon’s centre and first stadium will have the largest audience capacity in the quarter-finals, semi-finals and finals-which means they will be the first full outdoor sports event in the UK since the pandemic began stadium.

The game is part of the government event research program and runs at 50% capacity in the first week. Spectators do not need to wear masks when sitting in the stadium.

The Central Court, which can accommodate 15,000 people, and the No. 1 Court, which can accommodate 12,345 people, will be overcrowded from Tuesday to Sunday.

A Wimbledon statement read: “After the successful first week of the tournament, in accordance with the government’s agreement on the race research plan and in consultation with our local authorities in Merton, AELTC is pleased to confirm One court will have 100% of the audience in the quarter-finals, semi-finals and finals.

“This marks the first full outdoor stadium in a British sporting event since the pandemic began. The capacity of other venues will be reduced according to the number of venues.

“Ticket holders will continue to be required to produce proof of their Covid status on arrival, and are required to comply with the guidelines on wearing face masks during the trip, and support any additional mitigation measures.”

The audience must be fully vaccinated to prove that the test result is negative or acquired natural immunity through a recent infection.
