Jackie Bradley Jr. is one of the best defensive midfielders in MLB. He showed off his elite instincts and arm strength in another game on Thursday.
The Brewers outfielder managed to pretend that the Buccaneers base runner Jacob Stallings believed that Ben Gamer hit the home run.
When Stallings desperately tried to run back to first base, Brad used an absolute laser to knock him down and reverse the unconventional double play.
These are some of Bradley’s A-level jobs, because he didn’t put on his gloves to get the ball until the last second. This gave Stallings a false sense of security.
After the 7-2 Brewers victory, Bradley explained exactly how he played the game.
“In my mind, I have been thinking of making a Dirk play-but don’t let it out-so this is a great opportunity for me to do it,” Bradley says“It’s kind of like it’s going to hit a wall or a home run, and then try to see if I can get a reaction from it. [the runner]. I can pull it down. “
Bradley also managed to pass the ball to first base in time to catch Stallings. Although it is a bit offline, it does the job and, in Bradley’s estimate, is the easier part of the game.
“I think it’s selling fake matches,” Bradley said when asked if the fake or pitching is more difficult. “You have to stay almost calm and let it unfold. I just want to throw it as accurately as possible. I didn’t put everything on it. I just tried to put it in the air and it was close enough.”
If Bradley took something from that throw, it would be interesting to imagine how far and fast he could launch something with all his strength.
Either way, this will be one of the best doubles in Major League Baseball this season, none. It’s no surprise that Bradley, who won the Golden Glove Award, became this.
