Manny Machado’s feet are hot. kind of.
Although the showy, loud and colorful cleats are all the rage in baseball, Padres’ star third baseman dialed them down on Father’s Day. Like it, a lot down.
In the game against the Reds on Father’s Day in San Diego, Machado wore a pair of Nike Air Monarch cleats (excellent iconic daddy shoes).
Monarchs is known for being an unforgettable daddy shoe, which makes Machado’s shoes a homage to fathers (and barbecue masters) across the country.
What makes the cleats better is that they use the classic white, silver and navy blue color scheme, which is The only way Wear those bad boys. Although these are the exclusive cleats for Jordan Brand players, they are exclusive to Dad outside the court.
Machado has worn various brands of cleats throughout his career, usually of the flashy type. The All-Star infielder wore Jordan 11s, 12s, 4s and some other sneakers on the court.
Despite this, wearing a pair of Grillmaster 5s on Father’s Day won a lot of praise from fans who understand and pay tribute:

You might catch Machado at a barbecue near you after the game, and you might crack some bad puns and call everyone a “big guy.”
