In another week, Joan Ram won glory again.
On June 5th, Ram seemed ready to win his first PGA Tour title of the 2021 season at the Memorial Tournament, entering the final round with a six-shot lead. But “Rambo” was told when he left the stadium that he had tested positive for COVID-19, which forced him to withdraw from the game, thus ending any chance of winning for the first time since the 2020 Memorial Tournament in July of that year.
The world’s third-ranked golfer and the only darling to participate in the 2021 U.S. Open this week confirmed on Saturday that he has been allowed to compete at Torrey Pines Golf Course in San Diego:
After having tested negative twice within 24 hours and approved by health officials, it was time to prepare for the US Open. Varmus! ! pic.twitter.com/RmB7MGl0SA
