“Clean”, as the children said.
The Diamondbacks became the fifth seven teams to showcase their Nike City Connect jerseys this year, a series of alternate jerseys that all 30 teams will use in rotation in the next few years.
Although some other uniforms are rich in color, intricate and full of personality, the Diamondbacks lowered the complex design to imitate the color of desert sand. They are beauties. Take a look:
Features of some uniforms:
- The “Serpientes” in the front means “snakes” in Spanish to commemorate the Spanish culture in the community;
- The color imitates the sand of the Sonoran Desert;
- The “V” patch represents Phoenix’s nickname “Valley of the Sun”.
In the next few years, all 30 Major League Baseball teams will change their uniforms. The Red Sox, Diamondbacks, Cubs, White Sox and Marlins will all open their uniforms so far in 2021. The Dodgers and Giants will release their uniforms in the coming weeks.
The unified design strives to connect with the city represented by the team. Nike has done a great job in introducing new designs for the entire sports uniform, bringing a stylish and avant-garde appearance to many uniform designs.
The Snakes may have just jumped to the top of the list with these.
